I am a soon to be 56 year old Staten Islander with a great passion for romance and seeing the humor and beauty in everyday life. I am very much a homebody and enjoy reading, gardening and my local pub. People always seem to call me Miss Beatrice; I am not sure why! Perhaps you can tell me someday. I spent the first 12 years of my career speechwriting and became a full-time farmer with my husband, who passed away in 2022. Please be honest, kind to a fault and funny as heck. Please put up with my silliness and I will put up with yours. I have always appreciated it when the man in my life is independent and has interests outside of mine, but who can teach me new things. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but bringing me flowers and holding the door open for me go a long way toward softening my heart. I'm not looking for perfect; I'm looking for something better than that: Someone who is genuine. I have no children and whether a new friend has them or not is good by me either way.
