I was committed to a great person for 17 years that was raised without Faith of God in their life. Because we didn't share that, it is partly why I strayed and forgot everything my parents instilled in me by staying close to the Lord and living through Faith. I never blamed my Ex, but since our separation I have made FAITH above and beyond anything else I would look for in a partner if I were to commit again. When times are tough, you share that one comforting connection that you can draw from and use it to try and reconnect. It has worked for many of my friends, all with different religious beliefs.
